The Coventry League dates back to 1919 and saw many teams come and go during the 20th century, mostly from the years when Coventry was highly industrialised. The league reached its peaks between the mid 60s and late 70s, after which it has been in decline. The current situation is quite stable and, with the addition of Littlethorpe in 2007 has begun to increase in size again for the first time in several years.
